Capital market gains N521 bn in September

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market capitalisation for the month of September   recorded a gain of N521 billion as investors utilized the opportunity presented by low-priced stocks.

Investors key interest in consumer goods stocks had drive the equities market to a positive performance in the month under review, reducing the market year till date performance to  -9.92 per cent.

Market capitalisation closed September at N10.729 trillion, 5.1 per cent or N521 billion above N10.208 trillion the equities market opened for transaction in the month under review.

Similarly, the NSE All Share Index rose by 1,532.93 points from 29684.84 points to 31217.77 points.
