Few days to the Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) deadline given to capital market operators to comply with the
new minimum capital base, 11 operators are on the brink of merging.
The 11 market operators are Alangrange
Securities Ltd, Crown Capital Ltd, DSU Brokerage Services Ltd, Enterprise
Stockbrokers Plc, Excel Securities Ltd and Express
Portfolio Services Ltd.
Others are First Stockbrokers Ltd, LMB Stockbrokers
Limited, Summa Guaranty & Trust Company Ltd, Vision Trust & Investment
Ltd and Woodland Capital Market Plc.
According to SEC reports, 262 capital
market operators have complied with the new minimum capital requirement as at
September 9, 2015.
