Securities and Exchange Commission
(SEC) within 3 weeks has lifted suspension placed on three market operators.
The three firms are Cowry Asset
Management Limited’s, Standard Alliance Capital & Asset Management Limited
and Strand Capital Partners Limited
The apex market regulating body
said in a statement that Cowry Asset Management Limited has satisfactorily
fulfilled its underwriting commitment in accordance with the provisions of the
Investment and Securities Act 2007 as well as the Rules and Regulations of the
Securities and Exchange Commission.
“The suspension earlier placed on
the firm’s issuing house function has therefore been lifted effective today,
10th September, 2015,” the commission added.
In the case of Standard Alliance
Capital & Assets Management, SEC statement noted that that has reinstated
the registration of Standard Alliance Capital & Asset Management Ltd. as
Issuing House and Fund Manager.
“Please take note and deal with the
operator in line with the approval,” the statement stated.
On August this year, the commission
had lifted the suspension it placed on Strand Capital Partners Limited and its
sponsored individuals.
The lifting of the suspension is
sequel to satisfactory resolution of all complaints and issues with the
Commission by the operator.
